SPORTS Sports in Dublin consist of: Gaelic football, hurling, golf, soccer, greyhound racing, horse racing, rugby and roller blading.
Gaelic football and hurling: The All Ireland finals are played in early and late September. Both games are played during the season preceding the finals at Croke Park Stadium. Call 836-3222 for schedules.
Golf: The most famous championship golf courses are Royal Dublin and Portmamock. There are many other excellent courses that welcome non-members and have low fees. The Irish Open Golf Championships are staged around the country in July.
Greyhound Racing: Held at Shelbourne Park Stadium Wed.-Sat. 668-3502.
Horse Racing: Leopardstown Race Course is one of Ireland's busiest. It is open all year. Call 289-3607.
Rugby: Can be seen live at Lansdowne Road Stadium or on the screen at many pubs. 668-4601.
Soccer: The season for this popular sport runs from August to May. Tickets can be purchased for matches at Tolka Park Stadium at the gate. 837-9602
Rollerblading: Skaters rush up and down Sandymount seafront day and night. All equipmant and also lessons can be purchased at Skate Attack mobile van in the parking lot on Sandymount Strand.
